-Ezi Lock Hooks: The feeder features award-winning Ezi Lock Hooks, allowing it to be hung on any rail size, from wire up to 75mm, and securely locked in place.
-Capacity and Comfort: The feeder has a capacity of 60 litres and is designed to comfortably feed 10 calves.
-Mimicking Natural Digestion: The feeder is designed to mimic the natural drinking behaviour of calves when they suckle from a cow, encouraging slow drinking with a stretched-out neck to promote saliva production.
-Importance of Saliva: Saliva is emphasized for its role in balancing pH in the abomasum, aiding in milk curding, and providing natural antibiotic properties as a defence against infection.
-Proper Timing for Feeding: Calves are recommended to drink at a rate of 150 seconds (2 minutes and 30 seconds) per litre for optimal digestion. Feeding too fast may lead to issues like cross-sucking.
-Tips for MilkBar Feeding: Consider the size of the feeder based on the feeder and ensure that MilkBar teats are not higher than 60cm. Regularly clean the teats with an alkali detergent at least twice a week. Monitor calves for signs of infectious scours. Highlight the importance of feeding colostrum from a bottle for better IgG absorption compared to tubing.
