Gallagher’s HR0 EID ear tag reader is designed for simplicity, ergonomics and reliability. This makes electronic animal identification easier and more affordable than ever. You’ll notice this not only when reading the ear tags themselves, but also when sending the scan data to the system where you wish to process it.

Fast scanning and comfortable operation

The HR0 scans FDX and HDX ear tags with an extended scanning range of approximately 35 centimetres. You can scan by pressing the scan button or opt for continuous scan mode. This allows you to quickly scan large numbers of animals in succession. With every scan, the HR0 emits a vibration, sound and light signal, so you can be sure you won’t miss an animal. Thanks to the improved ergonomic design, the weight is perfectly balanced, allowing the reader to rest comfortably on your index finger. This makes working for long periods much more comfortable than with other ear tag readers.

Direct connection to your system

After scanning, the HR0 does not store the ear tag data, but sends it directly via Bluetooth to the device where you need it. The reader is optimised to connect and transmit information as simply and quickly as possible. This could be an app or a weigh scale, for example, from Gallagher or another brand. You can also pair the HR0 with your smartphone, tablet or laptop via HID mode, acting as a sort of keyboard. The scanned EID number is then entered into the selected text field, such as in Excel or a web form. You can also use the free Gallagher Animal Performance app to manage animals or weighing sessions. This makes electronic animal management easier and more accessible than ever, with no recurring costs.

Built for focus and efficiency

The HR0 is essentially designed for two applications: as an ear tag reader for an animal identification system (whether mandatory or not), or during a weighing session, where you link the measured weight to the animal. Many other ear tag readers offer functions that overlap with the app or weigh scales to which they are connected. The HR0 deliberately focuses solely on the scanning itself, so you can work faster with only the functions you need.

Our aim is to deliver orders within 3-5 working days with many orders arriving with our customers sooner than this. We partner with DPD for shipping.

Please note: JFC products have a delivery lead time of up to 2 weeks.

During busy periods, delivery may take 4–5 working days. Additional delays should be expected before Christmas and during the Black Friday/Cyber Monday period and occasional sitewide sales.
