ALBENCARE

Albencare with Selenium Oral Suspension

Effective against benzimidazole sensitive mature and immature roundworms, including Type II ostertagia, lungworms, tapeworms and adult liver fluke in cattle.

Withdrawal period: Meat and offal: 14 days Milk: 60 hours

Albencare is a broad spectrum multi-purpose anthelmintic, which treats and controls roundworms, lungworms, tapeworms and adult liver fluke in cattle. Shake well before use. Using standard drenching equipment, administer orally. To ensure administration of a correct dose, body weight should be determined as accurately as possible; accuracy of the dosing device should be checked. Cattle: Worm infestations 7.5mg albendazole per kg bodyweight (0.75ml per 15kg bodyweight). This dose also delivers 0.073mg per kg Selenium. Worm and fluke infestations - 10mg albendazole per kg bodyweight (1 ml per 15kg bodyweight). This dose also delivers 0.097mg per kg Selenium. Worm dose (7.5mg/kg) Worm dose (10mg/kg). Do not use in animals with known hypersensitivity to the active ingredient. Avoid frequent and repeated use of anthelmintics from the same class, over an extended period of time. Underdosing, which may be due to underestimation of body weight, misadministration of the product, or lack of calibration of the dosing device will effect the performance. Suspected clinical cases of resistance to anthelmintics should be further investigated using appropriate tests (e.g. Faecal Egg Count Reduction Test). Where the results of the test(s) strongly suggest resistance to a particular anthelmintic, an anthelmintic belonging to another pharmacological class and having a different mode of action should be used. Withdrawl: Meat and offal: 14 days - Animals intended for human consumption maybe slaughtered after 14 days following treatment. Milk intended for human consumption maybe taken from animals after 60 hours following treatment.
