Gallagher Pulsara is a 6 strand polyrope. Suitable for moving temporary fences, which are shorter than 500 metres, it is suitable for short term fencing for horses and cattle. There is excellent conductivity due to 3 X 40mm stainless-steel wires. Very strong and robust there is a breaking strain of 395kg with a resistance of 1.98 ohms. An electric fence is installed as an open circuit starting at the fence energiser. The current is carried by the fence wire and when an animal touches the wire the current flows through the animal, down to the ground and returns to the energiser. For the animal to feel an effective shock the earth system must be efficient enough to allow an unrestricted flow back to the energiser. Electric fencing sends a sharp but safe shock to the animals to prevent them from breaking out or being disturbed by neighbouring animals. Always wear protective clothing, gloves and safety glasses when you are fencing.
